Steam inhalation with Eucalyptus Radiata or Tea Tree delivers active compounds directly to the respiratory tract. This guide covers the correct method and safety precautions.
Boil water and allow it to cool for 2 minutes before use. Water that is too hot produces steam that can irritate the airways. Aim for around 70 to 80 degrees Celsius.
Pour 500ml of hot water into a large, stable bowl. Place it on a flat, non-slip surface at a comfortable height.
Add 2 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata or Tea Tree to the water. Do not add more. The steam concentrates the compounds significantly.
Place a large towel over your head and the bowl to create a tent that traps the steam. Keep your face 20 to 30cm above the water surface.
Breathe slowly and deeply through your nose. Take breaks if the steam feels too intense. 5 to 10 minutes is sufficient.
Safety Notes
Not suitable for children under 10. Keep the bowl stable to prevent spills. Do not lean too close to the hot water. For adults only without medical supervision.
